Volunteering Can Reshape Your Future

Become a part of our volunteer community and start making a direct impact by enriching lives through adaptive recreation.

Our program’s foundation stems from our committed and enthusiastic volunteer core. We have over 75 volunteers generating more than 1000 service hours every year, but we still cannot meet the demand for our services.

This is where you can help!

ARIZONA’S GREAT OUTDOORS ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE
By donating your time and sharing your enthusiasm for outdoor recreation, you can help us expand our horizons, as well as your own. HCAS provides opportunities for genuine relationships to grow between students, staff, and volunteers.

SUMMER VOLUNTEERS

Summer volunteers assist HCSA staff in kayaking, climbing, and mountain biking outings. Join us in providing access to the disability community and experience the benefits of the outdoors firsthand! Meet new people, learn about state-of-the-art adaptive equipment, and pick up some skills along the way.

Volunteers will help move kayaks to and from the trailer, they will belay climbers and be support riders on mountain bike rides.

No experience or equipment is required for kayaking and climbing.

Volunteers must have their own bike to volunteer for mountain biking.

Benefits include:

  • Mountain biking lessons from a Bike Instructor Certification Program (BICP) instructor
  • Access to kayaks and equipment
  • Free entry to the climbing gym when volunteering
