Alt text: Promotional flyer for a High Country Adaptive Sports Moonlite Bike Ride at Wupatki National Monument. The background shows a moonlit dirt road beneath a large full moon and a star-filled night sky. The High Country Adaptive Sports logo appears in the upper left. Text reads: "Wupatki National Monument Moonlite Bike Ride. July 29th. Meet at 7 PM. $10 per person. 16 miles, 95% downhill."

Join us for a family-friendly, all-downhill night ride during the Strawberry Full Moon. We will ride through Wupatki National Monument under moonlight, deck out our bikes with lights, meet new people, and enjoy a night you will not forget! This event cost only $10 open to everyone!
Details:
  • Meeting at the Cinder Hills Overlook at 7 PM to start shuttling vehicles. (Directions here)
  • While shuttling is taking place, bikes will be getting decorated with glow sticks and lights.
  • Moonrise is at ~8 PM. We plan to start riding around 8:30 – 9 PM
  • We will be riding 15.8 miles on a paved forest road that is mostly downhill to the Wupatki Visitors Center. This is where the ride will end. A shuttle will be available to get you back to your car if you are not able to shuttle at the beginning.
  • We estimate the ride ending anywhere from 10 – 11 PM, so be prepared for a late night!
  • Please bring a headlamp and/or bike light if you have one. We will have a limited supply. (Glow stick and other lighting material donations are welcomed!)
  • It should be a nice night out, but we recommend wearing long pants and bringing warm layers in case the temperature drops as the night goes on.
